15th Anniversary Tour

The Head and the Heart are celebrating their 2011 debut album during select tour dates in 2026 including the July 16 performance at Red Rocks.  Attending the Milwaukee anniversary show on May 4 felt like sitting inside band’s living room for an intimate live performance.  The stage: complete with a couch, layered rugs, a warm fireplace and about 15 cinematic lit lamps created an intimate atmosphere.  The influence of the lighting and stage details enhanced the power of this celebration.  The thoughtful intention on stage and storytelling moments created a unique connection with fans.

The show includes two segments.  During part one, the band played their self-titled 2011 album front-to-back with hearts of gratitude.  Each band member shared memories of the journey during past 15 years and thoughts on what the songs meant to them.   The second segment of the show had an energy of celebration and included fan favorites from recent albums.

In July 2026 The Head and the Heart will return to the Red Rocks Amphitheatre for two epic nights.  On July 15, 2026 the band will collaborate with the Colorado Symphony.  Evan Honer is a special guest on the first night of their two-night run.  On July 16, The Head and The Heart will celebrate their 15th Anniversary and play their debut album front to back. Wilderado will be the special guest for the Anniversary show. Secure your ticket here!

I saw The Head and the Heart in 2011 at Turner Hall in Milwaukee.  What I loved about the full circle moment on May 4, 2026 in Milwaukee was the same reaction to Charity Rose’s vocals that I witnessed in 2011.  The hush of the crowd before her vocals fill the theater are mesmerizing.  She can cut through a space with raw urgency one moment and then suddenly soften into something akin to a whisper the next. The pendulum alongside her talent on strings makes songs like “Rivers and Roads” and “Down in the Valley” create emotive cords with the audience.

The Head and the Heart signed with Sub Pop in late 2010 after self-releasing their debut album and building a following through local shows in Seattle. Sub Pop then reissued their debut album nationally in 2011.  That partnership was a big moment because Sub Pop is the legendary Seattle label associated with artists like Nirvana, Fleet Foxes, and The Shins, so signing there gave The Head and the Heart major indie credibility while still preserving their grassroots identity.  Their trademark harmonies will be very special with the symphony accompaniment as well as for the anniversary show.  I recommend finding tickets to both shows!

The Head and The Heart have established their status as a touring powerhouse.  The fusion of their voices, rhythms and dynamic personalities make The Head and the Heart one of the best rock bands touring today.  For me, their songs feel like a soundtrack and anthem for life’s major milestones.  I hope to attend their 30th anniversary show someday!
