The all-new Warren Haynes Band made their live debut on a European tour in June and a 7-show run directly supporting Slash on the West Coast dates of his blues-infused S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival, which received critical acclaim and saw Slash join the WHB for an impressive take on the Haynes classic “Soulshine” at various shows. Performing alongside Haynes (vocals, guitar) at Red Rocks for the all-star lineup of the Warren Haynes Band will be longtime friend and famed keyboardist John Medeski (most notably known as one-third of the groundbreaking trio Medeski, Martin & Wood), Gov’t Mule bassist Kevin Scott, veteran WHB member and two-time Grammy Award-winning drummer Terence Higgins, recognized for his work with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Ani DiFranco and others, and the venerable Greg Osby on sax, with the band augmented by background singers Saundra Williams and Mayteana Morales during the non-symphony set.
The Now Is The Time Tour featuring The Warren Haynes Band & The Dreams and Songs Symphonic Experience follows the hugely popular Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration, which featured 30 total shows throughout 2013-2016. The beloved production provided Warren the opportunity to interpret and celebrate the music of Jerry Garcia and ultimately served as inspiration to create his own symphonic event. In March 2019, Haynes first premiered his show “Dreams & Songs – A Symphonic Journey” to rave reviews with two sold-out shows with the Asheville Symphony Orchestra in Warren’s hometown of Asheville, NC. Alongside a full orchestra and an A-list band of core musicians, the one-of-a-kind evenings featured symphonic adaptations of his career-spanning material in a unique and distinctive way, allowing Haynes to stay true to his rock and improvisational roots while also embracing the power and beauty of the symphony. The all-new Now Is The Time Tour featuring The Warren Haynes Band & The Dreams and Songs Symphonic Experience expands upon the original “Dreams & Songs” shows with a remarkable multi-dimensional experience, showcasing the unmatched career of one of the most impressive guitarists and vocalists of the modern era.
