Something Corporate continues to make 2024 a massive year as the recently reunited beloved early 2000s pop-punk band has released another new single. “Happy,” a song by Something Corporate and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, is out now via Big Loud Rock – PRESS HERE to listen and PRESS HERE to watch the official lyric video, which first premiered with FLOOD Magazine. The upbeat pop rock track was produced and mixed by Luke Niccoli (Gwen Stefani, mxmtoon) with co-production by Andrew McMahon and Daniel Omelio.

“Happy” follows the release of their single “Death Grip,” which dropped in June as the band kicked off their long-awaited Out Of Office Tour. “Death Grip” has quite literally had a grip on the band’s longstanding, dedicated fanbase who’ve waited over 20 years for a new song release from Something Corporate, while also receiving media accolades from the likes of PEOPLE, Variety, Consequence, BrooklynVegan, Alternative Press, Atwood Magazine, and many more. PRESS HERE to listen and watch the official music video for “Death Grip.”

“I wrote ‘Happy’ toward the end of the pandemic,” shares McMahon. “There was this sense that we were all coming out of this strange moment collectively and I wanted to write something that reflected that. There was this aching for normalcy, a humble kind of happiness where you could just be, without confronting a four-alarm fire every other day. Years later I think that sentiment still makes a lot of sense. For me, the magic of this song is in the visuals and vignettes of everyday life in my weird little beach town and the return to a production style that includes super distorted guitars. There’s something in the message of ‘Happy’ and in its lyrical and aesthetic ties to Southern California that always made it feel like a Something Corporate song. I’m glad I held it back from the last Wilderness record and that it ended up at home in the studio with Brian, Will, Josh and Clutch.”

Something Corporate recently launched their reunion Out Of Office Tour, the first official cross-country outing featuring all five original band members in over 20 years. Rolling Stone was on hand at their sold-out NYC gig for a beautiful tour diary and recap – PRESS HERE to view. The 21-date sold-out trek resumes August 22nd in Washington, DC and continues throughout the summer and fall stopping in Asbury Park, Boston, Nashville, Atlanta, Orlando, Cleveland, Detroit, Denver Salt Lake City, and Tempe, before wrapping back home with two California shows: October 11th at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles and October 12th at The Warfield in San Francisco. Something Corporate will also be performing at select festivals including Chicago’s Riot Fest and Austin City Limits (weekend 1 only). See below for full list of upcoming tour dates. Visit www.somethingcorporate.com for more info and PRESS HERE to watch the tour promo video.

Something Corporate – Andrew McMahon (vocals, piano), Josh Partington (guitar), Kevin “Clutch” Page (bass), Brian Ireland (drums), and William Tell (guitar) – first reunited in 2023 for main stage performances at the When We Were Young festival and three sold-out headlining shows in Las Vegas and Anaheim. The five reunion performances, the first official shows from the band’s five core members in two decades, also saw McMahon debut a one-of-a-kind upright piano fully wrapped in Christie MicroTiles LED displaying images and lyrics from throughout Something Corporate’s catalog, which is front and center on the Out Of Office Tour.

To cap off this momentous year, Andrew McMahon is hosting the first-ever Holiday From Real Cruise. The 5-day excursion, setting sail November 9-13 from Miami to the Bahamas, also marks the 15th annual Dear Jack Foundation Benefit, McMahon’s nonprofit charity serving adolescent and young adults diagnosed with cancer. Holiday From Real will see the first time each of McMahon’s three successful projects – Something Corporate, Jack’s Mannequin, and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness – perform on the same bill as headliners per night. Also performing during the at-sea party will be The Academy Is…, Misterwives, Ruston Kelly, Jukebox The Ghost, Cartel, Augustana, and more. Holiday From Real is sold out but McMahon is currently hosting the Just Wanna Be Happy Contest with one lucky winner receiving a cabin for two. PRESS HERE to enter and visit www.holidayfromrealcruise.com for more information on the cruise.

About Something Corporate:

Something Corporate first formed in 1998 when its members were in high school and in a short period of time created quite the stir before going on hiatus in 2005. During its tenure, the highly adored SoCal band released multiple albums, including their major label debut, Leaving Through The Window, in 2002 via MCA Records/Drive-Thru Records, which premiered at the top of the Billboard Heatseekers Chart, and 2003’s North, which entered the Billboard 200 at #24. During its heyday, the band toured extensively worldwide, including a summer on the Vans Warped Tour, graced the cover of Alternative Press magazine, and performed on late-night TV including an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Collectively, Something Corporate – hailed as “one of the most respected groups in the scene with their incredible hooks and emotionally transparent music” (Alternative Press) – has sold over 1 million total records.

About Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness:

Over the last two decades, Andrew McMahon has successfully experienced musical rebirth many times and has consistently arrived on the other side stronger than ever. The East Coast-born, SoCal-based artist first co-founded the pop-punk outfit Something Corporate in 1998, serving as the group’s singer, pianist, and songwriter and leading the band to major chart success in the early 2000s via the albums Leaving Through The Window (2002) and North (2003). Soon after, McMahon resurfaced with the more personal solo project Jack’s Mannequin, finding success through three studio albums, with the second (The Glass Passenger, 2008) and third (People and Things, 2011) entering the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart and their debut, Everything In Transit (2005), reaching Gold status. In 2014, McMahon released his debut album under his own name and new moniker, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, featuring the breakout top 5 alternative radio singles “Cecilia and the Satellite” and “Fire Escape.” Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness has since released the hook-packed albums Zombies On Broadway (2017), Upside Down Flowers (2018), and Tilt At The Wind No More (2023), amassing over 325 million total streams to date, performing at such marquee festivals as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Riot Fest, and Firefly, and touring alongside the likes of Weezer, Panic! at the Disco, Gavin DeGraw, Allen Stone, and Dashboard Confessional as well as one of McMahon’s idols, Billy Joel. McMahon has also sold nearly 2.5 million albums across all of his musical projects, received an Emmy nomination for his work on the NBC show “Smash,” and released his memoir Three Pianos in 2021, which is also available as an audiobook read by Andrew with special musical sections he exclusively scored for this. Additionally, in 2006, McMahon founded the Dear Jack Foundation after surviving his own battle with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) at the age of 22. The nonprofit charity provides impactful programming that directly benefits adolescent and young adults diagnosed with cancer in order to improve quality of life and create positive health outcomes from treatment to survivorship for patients and their families.
