Acoustic Guitar Magazine said, “Impeccable vocal harmonies and instrumentation.”

Taste Of Country wrote “A couple whose harmonies and chemistry speak for themselves. It was clear from the very first note that Dawn and Hawkes are something very special.”
Simply known as Dawn and Hawkes, Austin based Americana/Folk-rock duo Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes met in 2010 and, as Miranda puts it, “Our harmony just fell in and that was the moment we both felt that we should sing together. Something happened and it was as if there was suddenly this third voice.” That ‘voice’ was heard world-wide in 2014 when, after an audition for The Voice, Adam Levine called their rendition of a classic Beatles tune “…favorite performance I’ve ever seen on The Voice.”

Influenced by Americana, country-rock, and classic Beatlesque-pop, their first duo effort, Golden Heart EP (2012), introduced their signature harmonies to the indie-folk sound and kicked off a whirlwind three years of constant cross-country touring and co-writing. Their second release, Yours and Mine (2015), was recorded in between tour dates of headline shows, festivals and fantastic opening slots for artists like Dawes, Patty Griffin, Chris Isaak, Jim Lauderdale, Robert Earl Keen, and Valerie June. “We’d tour, come home inspired, record a song, tour, rinse and repeat” explains Dawn. The majority of the songs on Yours and Mine are co-writes, conceived in real-time while the couple’s relationship bloomed from friendship to husband & wife.Yours and Mine is ‘undeniably intimate’ (Texas Monthly-VidPremiere) and is foremost a celebration of life’s beautiful moments that make us want to take another breath and another step – despite uncertainty.

It’s now 2017 and they have a new album in the works. Putting all of their stuff except their recording gear and guitars (and clothes!) in storage, they are hittin’ the road for four months on tour in California, New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado. They’ll be returning, as a pilgrimage so to speak, to pay homage to several places that have inspired them and their music—the Pacific Coast, Big Sur, Colorado Rockies (all featured in the music videos “Yours and Mine” “Silver Line” “Almost Mine”.) Having the music for the new album written, they’ll be debuting new songs like “Promised Land” “Highway” “Stardust” “Trees” and “Horizon Line” for the first time on tour; and between shows, they’ll be recording the new album.

“Roots music that sears the heart yet goes down smooth. Blues, folk, country and rock tangle in their sound, every element amplified by the pair’s lovely, tortured harmonies”  – Columbia Tribune

Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes met when he crossed an Austin barroom floor and asked her to dance. The first time they sang together they found a sound Texas Monthly calls “undeniably intimate”.

Their initial duo effort, Golden Heart,  climbed to No. 25 in Billboard’s Folk chart and landed at No. 2 in iTunes singer-songwriter albums and kicked off a whirlwind of constant cross-country touring and performances with artists like Patty Griffin, Dan Tyminski & Alison Krauss, Chris Issak, Old 97s, Robert Earl Keen, and showcases at festivals including Austin City Limits, Folk Alliance, AmericanaFest, South By Southwest and TEDx.

Their most recent album, Yours and Mine, is foremost a celebration of life’s beautiful moments that make us want to take another breath and another step – despite uncertainty.

“If you’re searching and you find you’re not so alone, Let’s go there to find that silver line”
