VÉRITÉ hits the road and makes a stop in Denver to introduce her new music and keep fans wanting more.
By Veronica Lee
VÉRITÉ is currently on tour with Betty Who, Australian dance-pop singer/songwriter, and played an emotionally charged set at the Bluebird Theater in Denver last night. With it being only her second time in Denver, many Who fans were unfamiliar with her work. However, by the end of her first song, all were swaying and dancing, agreeing VÉRITÉ is another artist to rally behind. She played tracks from her previous EP release as well as a few from her upcoming album, Somewhere In Between, set for release in June. When You’re Gone, one of her latest releases, was a strong hitter, packing a punch to the room and leaving it’s lasting impressions.
The new songs evoke an internal struggle inside, one that is a push-pull of want, need, and letting go of a past relationship. VÉRITÉ draws the crowd in with her powerful vocals, keeps them guessing with interesting compositional breaks and drives it home with a unique blend of dance/pop/soul. Her most popular song of the evening was the familiar cover of The 1975’s Somebody Else, which saw success in 2016, yet she was unafraid to dive in and present the new material.
Phase Me Out was the closer of the night, and with it being her strong new single, VÉRITÉ is definitely an artist to keep an eye out for in 2017.
