As the release of their highly anticipated eighth studio album approaches, All That Remains have solidified their spot in history with 15 years of musical mayhem under their belts and no signs of slowing down. The New England-based quintet will release Madness on April 28th via Razor and Tie Records. The band gave a small sampling of the Howard Benson (Halestorm, Papa Roach, Chris Cornell) produced record, premiering two hard-hitting but very diverse tracks – a melodic, thought provoking single entitled “Madness” that’s currently climbing the rock radio charts – and a dark, brutal selection called “Safe House,” full of guttural screams, aggressive instrumentation, and pit-ready breakdowns that already reached #1 at metal radio.
Yesterday with the help of Revolver Magazine, All That Remains unveiled the lyric video for their thrasher new track,“Halo.” The song is an aggressive anthem of defiance and strength in ones convictions. It opens with a speedy electronic passage that sounds like a violin on hyper drive, then develops into a blazing number that balances melodic vocals with pain stricken howls: “so you think you know the way that I should live my life… I’ll smash the crown before I give you the power to decide.”
“We really wanted this record to be different,” Labonte says,” explaining the inclusion of electronic samples and the dramatic juxtaposition between roaring chaos and accessible craftsmanship. “We wanted to really push ourselves and push the boundaries of what we’re allowed to do. We’ve always pushed that envelope, but we wanted to push it more.”
And push themselves they did. Fans can pre-order All That Remains blistering new record, Madness, today. Merchandise bundles will be available and all digital pre-orders will include instant gratification tracks of the albums pre-released songs: “Madness”, “Safe House” and “Halo.”
