SWEET93 SHARES GAUZY NEW SINGLE

“WHAT’S TRUE?” – LISTEN

AN EXAMINATION OF REALITY THAT SHOWS OFF

MELODIC TONES AND SWIRLING RIFFS

sweet93, the moniker of New York City-based guitarist and vocalist Chloe, is excited to share her latest single, “what’s true?” A cathartic and swirling shoegaze lullaby that rocks the listener back and forth, today’s track is a spellbinding meditation on genuine emotion and false pretenses with textured but dreamy guitar riffs. Her first release of the year, “what’s true?” continues to establish sweet93 as a project destined for exponential sonic growth.

“’what’s true?’ changed shape several times before I realized what I was actually trying to say,” Chloe explains. “I spent days in my room trying to tell some version of a story, when in reality I was struggling with understanding reality at all… Lately I’ve been filled with more questions than answers, like when nothing is real and no one’s around – what’s actually true?”

LISTEN TO “WHAT’S TRUE?”

sweet93’s debut record, All the Same All Ok, arrived in 2021 as a collection of songs reflecting on feelings of exposition, love, loss and invisibility. A mysterious figure in the New York City music scene, sweet93 often plays shows around town supporting contemporaries like untitled (halo) and Ovlov and can be heard singing backup vocals on Porches’ new album, Shirt. She is currently working on her sophomore album.

After playing shows around New York City for the past few years, sweet93 will embark on her first U.S. tour supporting her friend and collaborator, Porches. For a full list of dates, see below and visit sweet93.com.

sweet93 embodies the hazy, drifting summers of the early 90s – a time when the lullabies of Slowdive and the sweetness of Mazzy Star ruled the alternative rock scene. Based in NYC, sweet93’s songs are the soundtrack to a waking dream.

All The Same All OK, sweet93’s self-released debut LP, is a collection of these shoegaze dreamscapes. A blissed-out collapse of reverb and layered chaos that switches gears abruptly to acoustic minimalism. Her storytelling focuses on love and inevitable loss, a fear of being both uncovered and invisible.

Gloriously lo-fi, sweet93’s recent singles “Stars Above” and “Be My Best” drip in walls of echo and aural swirl – songs that would have bloomed in the era of MTV’s 120 Minutes, when the mystery between artist and listener still existed. sweet93 has a new record in the works, sure to be previewed by recent songs and shows around New York City.
