Dazzle presents ‘Good Trouble’ A John Lewis and Martin Luther King Jr. Day Tribute, Jan. 15th at 6:30 PM with Daryl J. Walker, minister of music and worship of the Park Hill Methodist Church in Denver.

Martin Luther King Jr. spent his adult life fighting for civil rights. Congressman John Lewis spent his adult life-fighting injustice and inviting others to join him in getting into ‘Good Trouble.’ On MLK Jr.’s Birthday, Daryl J. Walker issues a musical invitation to get into ‘Good Trouble’ where the legacies of both Martin Luther King Jr. and John Lewis are celebrated.

Dazzle is usually a serious listening room where people enjoy being immersed in music. But for Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday in 2024, we are expanding that experience. “I see myself as a vessel to help others find their way,” says Sacred Music Theologian Daryl J. Walker. He continues, “Everyone is invited to not just listen to the songs, but to come and be inspired to take action.”

The show is the live musical equivalent of an old-school mix CD with each song designed to help you find your way to ‘Good Trouble.’ A variety of artists & speakers include:

  • Mary Louise Lee singing her rendition of This Little Light of Mine

  • Daryl Walker singing Sing Out, March On, written in dedication to John Lewis, & MLK Jr.’s song If I Can Help Somebody

  • Rev. Dr. A. J. Bush from Trinity United Methodist Church talks about social justice and what kind of ‘good trouble’ they are getting int

To celebrate the legacies of Martin Luther King Jr. and John Lewis who fought tirelessly for civil rights, three different organizations will be represented where people can sign up to get into some ‘Good Trouble.’ The Center for Common Ground, a group that educates, empowers, and combats voter suppression, will be there. Stay tuned to learn about the other two.

Come find your way as the music equips and empowers you to be the agent of change that we are all called to be. There is more work to be done. This is a family-friendly show where youth and millennials might be inspired to action.
