Like a long time comin’. Long time. Micky & the Motorcars released their most recent record Long Time Comin’ in November of 2019, then with COVID hitting, it was a Long Road to Nowhere. Rolling in from Austin, TX, MMC made it back to Colorado and landed in Evergreen on Friday night, playing at the historical Little Bear Saloon.
Coming off another successful Braun Brothers Reunion in their hometown Challis, ID, Aug. 12-14, brothers Micky and Gary Braun led the charge on vocals and guitars, and had Bobby Paugh on drums, Pablo Trujillo on lead guitar and pedal steel, and Andy Carrell on bass.
Playing from an extended catalog, MMC took listeners through early songs such as Careless, Rock Springs to Cheyenne, Love is Where I Left It (all from 2007), and their long-standing cover of Lawyers, Guns, and Money (Warren Zevon), and featured songs from Long Time Comin’, rocking out to Rodeo Girl, Road to You, Alone Again Tonight, Lions of Kandahar, Break My Heart, Stranger Tonight, and Hold This Town Together.
