Globe Hall is one of Denver’s best kept secrets, with an environment thats hard to top followed by a long list of performers that will blow you away. Last night’s performance was opened with a funky local band called “Gumbo Le Funqe” playing some of their original tracks like “Star Funk”, but this was just the beginning of a night full of funk.

The show was headlined by none other then “Big Sam’s Funky Nation” based out of New Orleans, Louisiana. When you think of New Orleans, a blend of funk, jazz, rock’n roll, and hip-hop all come to mind, and thats exactly what Big Sam is all about. They just wanna make you dance! Sam and the band played a mixture of their top hits last night such as “King of the Party and “Got it Goin On”. They ended the night playing some of their new songs, while pushing the release of their new album “Songs in the Key of Funk, Vol 1”. Needless to say the crowd was groovin to the funk all night!

Joining Big Sam on the stage last night was Drew “Da Phessah” Baham on the Trumpet / vocals, Jerry “JBlakk” Henderson on the Bass, Keenan “Butta Cream” McRae on the Gatar, and Alfred “Sgt Gutta” Jordan playing the Drums.”
