With weeks of anticipated buzz, Rose Hill Drive played to a sold-out Larimer Lounge last night. Admittedly, the band was unsure of the expected turnout, however 5 years off from playing and -7 degree weather couldn’t keep this audience away.
The original trio is back in formation and sounding more solid and better than ever; with Nate on drums, Daniel on lead guitar and harmonies, and Jake on bass and lead vocals, these guys were on fire! From the moment they walked on stage, the smiles on their faces and the energy from the crowd grew and flourished, they expertly executing each song in this power packed set list. A methodical arrangement of picks from their 3-album catalog, along with a couple new tracks sprinkled in, this show makes clear not only why they were met with success in the past but that this is soon to take off again.
Each band member fell into rhythm with one another, melting into the deep bass grooves and revving it up into high gear for each guitar break. A remarkable performance on the drum kit, as the approach was never timid or unsure, it led the band directly into a night that is sure to spark this as just the beginning.
The audience pulsed and rocked to the beat, enjoying singing along to favorites and wetting the appetites for new music. A night of solid rock and roll with immense purpose and personality, Rose Hill Drive is definitely on their way back to the top.
