Founded in 1982, Diamond Rio launched their self-titled release in 1991 and hasn’t looked back since. Playing The World Famous Grizzly Rose 25 or so times, Diamond Rio returned to show Denver fans much appreciation on Friday night.
Diamond Rio headlined the SOLD OUT night, led by Marty Roe on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Jimmy Olander on lead guitar and banjo, Dan Truman on keyboards, Dink Cook filling in on bass guitar, Carson McKee on fiddle/mandolin and harmony vocals, and Micah Schweinsberg on drums. Diamond Rio had the crowd singing along the entire set. It was Unbelievable (first song video).
Songs included their 5 #1 hits, their first single, Meet in the Middle (1991), How Your Love Makes Me Feel (1997), One More Day (2001), Beautiful Mess (2002), and I Believe (2003). Find the full setlist in the photos below.
Diamond Rio has so many hits that they had to make a medley (You’re Gone, Walkin’ Away, Holdin’, Love A Little Stronger, All In Your Head) to ensure no one had forgotten all of their big songs.
The full-length set of hits included Unbelievable, Norma Jean Riley, Nowhere Bound, Imagine That, Mirror Mirror, and I Believe. Diamond Rio finished their set with Meet In The Middle, How Your Love Makes Me Feel, and Bubba Hyde. Catch up with Diamond Rio on their website, diamondrio.com.
Duey & Unbroken kicked off the night with a string of recognizable hits. Led by Duane Duey Weibel on guitar and lead vocals, and supported by Kenny Wilson on drums, Sean Scott on vocals and lead guitar, Todd Clayton on steel guitar, and Will Arisman on bass, the band prepared the growing crowd for the impending country tunes.
Duey & Unbroken started with Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off, then gathered the party crowd with Dance Her Home, That Ain’t My Truck, Good Directions, I Never Lie, Feathered Indians, and Dear Rodeo. The band also played a new tune, How Good Lookin’ I Am. The full setlist is in the photos below.
