
The Josh Abbott Band started in Lubbock and now tours out of Austin. Spreading their Texas Country, the Josh Abbott Band returned to the Grizzly Rose in Denver on Friday night.
The lengthy setlist mixed in songs from their current release, Somewhere Down the Road, including their opening song, Barstool Boys, and other popular songs such as My Texas, Wasn’t That Drunk, She’s Like Texas, and Touch. Find the full setlist in the Grizzly Rose photos below.
Frontman Josh Abbott, on guitar and vocals, was supported by Kris Farrow on guitar, Adam Hill on fiddle, Eddie Villanueva on drums, Cale Richardson on guitar, David Fralin on keys and harmonica, and Jimmy Hartman on bass. Travis Holcomb was the tour manager, Aaron Oliver PM/FOH, Ric Torres on monitors, Jordan Franklin drum tech, and William Armstrong was the bus driver. Denver’s own Union Gray opened up the show with their country-rock sounds. Led by Colorado Country Music Entertainer of the Year Scott Gray on lead vocals and guitar, Union Gray started the night with a Red Dirt staple, Cry Lonely, and performed solid original tunes such as 31 Miles to Wheatland, Just Wanted You To Know, and Albuquerque Sunset. Songs from their most recent release included the title track, Rocky Mountain Raised, I Swear, Long Gone, and they finished their set with First Time and Long Gone. Union Gray hit their marks and played their originals, as well as classic covers, including Grow Old and Ain’t Living Long Like This, to the early arrivals. Union Gray featured Scott Gray on lead vocals and guitar, Mary Gray on backup vocals and percussion, Jim Schoettle on lead guitar, Matt Morse on drums, Jason Friedman on keys, and Brad Robson on bass.
