Cody Canada & the Departed and Micky & the Motorcars have been gearing up for the 2023 Braun Brothers Reunion that will be in Challis, ID, on August 10-12, (Have you seen that line-up!?), but they still made time to hit Fort Collins for a Sunday night show. Fans came to rock and roll. Fans came to hoochie coo. Fans came to shake that thing, at Sundance Saloon.
Cody Canada & The Departed, an Americana Roots-Rock band, based in New Braunfels, Texas, had frontman Cody Canada on guitar, bassist Jeremy Plato, and drummer Eric Hansen on stage.
Playing through their rich Red Dirt history Cody Canada & The Departed wowed the crowd with songs such as Lonely Girl, and other songs that helped build Canada’s popularity, such as Fighting For, Hammer Down, Anywhere But Here, 17, Alabama, and Level Land. Canada and his band were having fun with Boys From Oklahoma. Plato kept the positive vibes going with Find My Love and Soul Agent. Special guest guitarist Peyton Glasco also joined the stage for a couple of songs at the end of the set. Find the full setlist in the photos below.
Cody Canada & The Departed ended their set with a song about a story about getting pulled over in Ohio, 51 Pieces. Canada and the band played an incredible mash-up of Inbetweener and ZZ Top’s Sharp Dressed Man for the encore.
