The Talbott Brothers released their highly anticipated new album “Borderlands” on 5.16.2025. I think you will be hearing a lot about these brothers in the coming months.
The singer-songwriter duo released this statement about the new album. “Borderlands navigates the emotional frontiers suggested by its name — where heartbreak leads to healing, grief discovers joy, sadness gives way to happiness, anger finds forgiveness, and indifference becomes love. It’s a sonic exploration about finding the courage to leave home, while always carrying a piece of it with you.”
I listened to the album from start to finish today and found it to be a sacred blend of Americana; rooted in folk, country, rock and roll and a mountain of heartfelt soul. The raw and sometimes gritty lyrics ride on their signature magic: blood-brother harmonies. I experienced several of the songs live during their tour stop on April 22nd in Madison, WI. Seeing them perform “Kerosene” was a highlight of the show. Their energy during the song radiated from the stage. It is a theme song for those that stand by you through both the highs and lows while fully accepting you for who you are.

Some shows forge a forever connection with a band. This was one of those shows. I left the April 22nd show with vinyl and other merch in one hand. My other hand was messaging friends across the country recommending upcoming stops on the Borderlands tour in their home states. And my friends showed up and fell in love with these songs. I think the obsession with this album will spread like wildfire.

The brothers grew up in Imperial, Nebraska. They have wandered to the west coast and back to the midwest. They ignited national recognition with their 2017 track “We Got Love” from their debut album Gray. My personal favorite track on Gray is “Stay.” In 2019 Rolling Stone praised The Talbott Brothers for “making cinematic folk-rock for open highways, widescreen skies, and the limitless reach of the American heartland.”
Borderlands is the Talbott Brothers fourth studio album. “Wayward Son” begs for your attention and it has been on repeat for me all day. The lyrics from “Wild” will inspire you to stop everything and hold the chorus like a poem.
I predict “Easy Love” will appear on wedding dance floors this summer. The love song captures the essence of finding an uncomplicated relationship and finding someone worth returning to over and over again.
The Talbott Brothers connect with fans through raw authenticity and the grit embedded in their music. In recent years, they have toured globally, headlining their own shows and sharing the stage with heavyweights like NEEDTOBREATHE, Wild Rivers and Johnnyswim. I have seen them multiple times on The Rock Boat where they have a very loyal fanbase.
The Talbott Brothers are on tour now in support of their new album. Two Colorado stops are planned for the summer including:
1.) Highlands Ranch, CO on Father’s Day – June 15 at Vetstock

I will leave you with the mesmerizing riff of this song. It’s the first song I fell in love with created by the Talbott Brothers.
