Rising artist Evan Honer has released his first new single of 2025 “Everything I Wanted” via his own label, Cloverdale Records. The track embodies Honer’s unmistakable lyricism but also marks a bold shift in the singer-songwriter’s sound as he embraces a heavier, electric-driven approach. The track premiered via Paste Magazine and Honer told them exclusively, “This is the first of the songs that we recorded for my third album and it’s so awesome to finally have a studio version of the song we have been playing live for so long. Having this be the first song of the album roll out hints that there is gonna be a change in sound and I am very excited to be evolving into something new for me.”
Honer will bring the new song to the Gothic Theatre in Englewood, Colorado on March 15, 2025. Leon Majcen provides support for the Gothic Theatre performance.
Evan Honer’s musical journey began in Southern California while he was still a college student, mixing acoustic folk, indie-Americana, and alternative pop to create a distinctive sound that blurred genre boundaries. What started as humble social media uploads quickly became a viral sensation, with his rendition of Tyler Childers’ “Jersey Giant” which has to date been certified Gold, racking up over 100 million streams. By the time he graduated, he had already released his debut album, West on I-10, collaborated with notable artists, and played sold-out shows across the U.S. and Europe. This whirlwind journey is encapsulated in June 2024’s sophomore album, Fighting For, a coming-of-age album co-produced by Honer, Stephen Myers, and Jon Notar. The LP reflects Honer’s evolution as an artist, blending acoustic-driven tracks with a diverse range of sounds, including orchestral arrangements and emo influences. He recorded the album on the move, capturing raw, unpolished moments in small studios, living rooms, and Airbnbs. Despite lucrative offers from major labels, Honer opted to release Fighting For on his own label, Cloverdale Records, to maintain control over his creative process. He finished 2024 with the release of two EPs: Different Life and Annabelle.
