It was hotter than a hoochie coochie as Double Wide-90’s Country Party returned to The Grizzly Rose on Friday night. Facing a sold-out crowd, Double Wide pulled out all the stops for the KYGO-hosted party. They went Callin’ Baton Rouge, down the Chattahoochee River, and went through Georgia for a Watermelon Crawl, before giving a Toby Keith tribute, handing out 50 red solo cups for Shoulda Been a Cowboy. It was a wild ride and Double Wide kept the party going with other 90’s county hits including Pickup Man, Brand New Man, Heads Carolina, and Brand New Man. It was mullet heaven.

Double Wide had Ace Montgomery leading the crew that included Tracy Steele on keys, Grandpa Jim James on guitar, Roy Tucker on lead vocals, Wild Bill Hick Hop on bass, Johnny Rockets on drums, Paul on lead guitar, Slim Coleslaw on fiddle, and tech guru Tug Allen.

The audience joined all the vocals singing out all the songs from the 90s heydey, including other classic tunes Achy Breaky Heart, Amarillo By Morning, Dixieland Delight, and Meet in the Middle. A couple of surprise tunes included Don’t Stop Believing, Smells Like Teen Spirit, and I Want It That Way. A little something for everyone kept the packed venue partying all night.

Krista Lynn Meadow out of Murfreesboro, TN, brought her country sounds for the opening set. Supported on stage by Brandon Blackburn on guitar, Eli Simon on drums, and Jacob Robertson on bass, Meadow warmed up the early arrivers with a mix of cover and original tunes. Starting with Gunpowder & Lead, Meadow exploded onto the stage with a bang, following up with Suds in the Bucket. Meadow put her voice front and center and engaged the audience with great stage interaction. Adding in originals such as Highway, Lie In It, Walk That Line, and Kill a Memory, Meadow made a full venue of new fans.

Other quality covers included Man I Feel Like a Woman, Whitehouse Road, Here For the Party, Save a Horse, Before He Cheats, Mama’s Broken Heart, Life is a Highway, Any Man of Mine, Love Story, and Good Girl.
