Lainey Wilson’s debut performance on the legendary Red Rocks stage launched with powerful grandeur. The star descended a staircase immediately unleashing powerful vocals during the opening song, Hold My Halo.
“Light it up, let it all go
Tell that angel inside of me to hide her wings and lay low Hold my halo…”Wilson captivated the sold-out crowd with endless raw energy and an uncanny ability to move from gentle intimacy in her songs to electric vocal range all while dancing and covering every corner of the stage igniting a special bond with the audience. There was a palpable connection evident between Wilson and her wildly talented band of musicians and the sea of passionate fans at the Red Rocks amphitheater.
The amount of work her team put into every detail of the Red Rocks show was impressive. The mix of styling, lighting, acoustics and aesthetics all blended together to culminate in a visually dreamy performance. The full moon rising behind the stage added an extra element of magic.
I loved the moment Wilson shared, “My dreams are coming true before my eyes.” She had a heartfelt message for her young fans which went something like this… “A lot of little girls are at this show tonight. If you are here learning anything…I want you to get up everyday and remember I am beautiful, great and fearless. I want you to know that if the Lord puts a dream in your heart…follow it.”
Wilson told the audience that when she was 9-years-old riding through Nashville she told her mom (a teacher) and dad (a farmer) that “this [Nashville] is home.” She spent her youth in a small town in Louisiana and expressed appreciation for the unending support from her family.
After landing her first TV acting role in 2022 in Paramount’s “Yellowstone,” Wilson has astounded music fans on stage with her fresh twist on country music. The Red Rocks Set List included many songs from her widely acclaimed 2022 album, Bell Bottom Country.
