Well, it’s Friday and we’re gettin’ tore up. Red Dirt MVP Stoney LaRue hit a home run in his return to The Grizzly Rose. Born in Texas and raised in Oklahoma, LaRue has constructed a strong following in those two states and all over the US. Starting the show with Sirens, LaRue alerted fans that they were going to get one helluva show. LaRue kept listeners engaged and singing along with his songs such as Easy She Comes, Texas Moon, Velvet, One Chord Song, Drowning in the Moonlight, Down in Flames, Feet Don’t Touch the Ground, Idabel Blues, and of course, Oklahoma Breakdown among many others.

In support, LaRue had Jesse on lead guitar, Kiko on bass, and Adrian on Drums. Check www.StoneyLaRue.com for more information. Good news, Fred. Marissa found your keys and your truck is parked out back.

Out of Nashville, Jilly Martin and Ryan Brooks Kelly began making music together in 2014 in the New England area. They have been playing in Denver all week and will wrap up at the Grizzly Rose on Sunday night. After that, they will be heading to Wyoming for the rest of July with stops in Dubois and Jackson before making a return visit to Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Opening for LaRue, Martin & Kelly started the show with Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident) and then hit listeners with an original, I’m Gonna Kiss You. Martin & Kelly performed a solid mix of covers such as East Bound and Down, I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles), and Sin Wagon, and other originals like Stand Your Ground, given as a military tribute. Find the full setlist in the photos below. Martin & Kelly had Jilly Martin on vocals and acoustic guitar, Ryan Kelly on vocals and acoustic and electric guitars, as they were supported by Jim Gregoire on bass and James McCarthy on drums.

Check out Young, Broke and Beautiful, which they also performed.
