It was a Battle Royale to see who could have the most fun at The World Famous Grizzly Rose on Friday night.

First up on the card was Nathan Dean & The Damn Band based out of Gilbert, AZ. Featuring Bill Bogan as Skilled Drummer, Nick Miranda III as Adroit Bassist, Jason Judd as Master Guitarist, and Nathan Dean as Ace Vocalist, ND&TDB formed a solid alliance as they slammed the stage with Classic Country tunes, Red Dirt sounds, and solid originals.

One of the original songs called Earth Lost An Angel(video), will be on a new release called Citizen of the Universe, which will be dedicated to their old band mate, Larry D.

Next up was the Main Event, Jason Sundance Head. With an extensive family history as Roy Head’s son, and considerable resume that includes being semi-finalist on American Idol (2007) and winner of The Voice (2016), Sundance engaged the small-but-mighty crowd with gold belt humor and powerhouse vocals. He and his trio played recognizable tunes from performances recorded on DVRs all over the country, as well as country favorites from older tunes, Love Can Build A Bridge from the Judds, and newer songs like Alicia Keys’ No One.  In support of Sundance, Dave Walters was on bass and Joe Busa crushed the drums. So who had the most fun? Was it Nathan Dean & The Damn Band or Sundance?

Or were the fans really the winners? They basically got a private show where everyone was in the front row; all of them with their phones out to save a clip of the tv performer. Next time, Sundance will be the A-show and sell out the venue. If you’re whistling the theme to the Andy Griffith show today, be sure to thank Sundance.
