Music fans with an affinity for energetic live rock ‘n roll should prepare themselves for the second leg of the upcoming “Booty Shakers Ball Tour.”
VISTA KICKS are hitting the road on their 24-date headlining tour following the success of the first leg (November and December 2017)–which kicked off last night with a sold-out Valentine’s Day show at The Troubadour in Los Angeles–named after their debut full-length album BOOTY SHAKERS BALL. The Los Angeles-based band will bring their signature “…feel-great, dance-inducing vibe…” as noted by Live Nation’s Ones To Watch blog across North America, including a stop in DENVER on THURSDAY, MARCH 22 at MOON ROOM AT SUMMIT MUSIC HALL.
VISTA KICKS released their debut 15-track full-length BOOTY SHAKERS BALL album in September of 2017, catching the ear of BUZZBANDS LA’s Kevin Bronson who noted the album “…certainly lives up to the promise of its title,” adding: “the album finds Vista Kicks covering plenty of musical turf, much of which can be traced to the British Invasion. Unfettered power-pop, bad-boy glam, brash rock ’n’ soul, boot-stomping bar rock—Ball spins around all of them without languishing in one place too long. More than many twentysomethings who’ve turned to classic rock, there’s craftsmanship in what they’ve made, from tasty but not overplayed guitar leads to Thomas’ just-right rocker snarl-cum-falsetto. Commence shaking.”

VISTA KICKS–four lifelong friends from Northern California who grew up obsessed with the sounds of AC/DC, The Beatles, Black Sabbath, The Bee Gees and Michael Jackson–began playing anywhere and everywhere with a stage by the age of 16, taking over supper clubs, parties, and backyard barbecues. After their single “Make It Real” cracked 2 million Spotify streams, they made a collective decision to forego college and trade their small Sacramento suburb for Hollywood, forming VISTA KICKS in late 2015.
Living together in a cramped one-bedroom apartment, the quartet–Derek Thomas (vocals), Sam Plecker (guitar/vocals), Trevor Sutton (bass), and Nolan Le Vine (drums)–quietly ignited a buzz throughout L.A. and beyond with two full U.S. tours under their belts and recording with Tommy Lee behind the board. Within a year, the band’s independent 2016 Chasing Waves EP and additional singles generated over 5 million cumulative Spotify streams and 3.2 million YouTube views. However, everything set the stage for the release of their latest debut full-length, BOOTY SHAKERS BALL—self-produced by the musicians themselves and engineered by their guitar player and vocalist Sam Plecker. Best described as a smoked-out collaboration between James Brown and Jimmy Page, it bridges eras.
