Nothing like a cool night after a summer day. The band sets up for the gig, the people come to Dannik’s for food and drinks and live music, the band starts up with the Blues, coolness ensues.
Out of Tulsa, OK, Dustin Pittsley heads up this all-star crew of musicians with heart-felt lyrics, tremendous vocal abilities, and adding in his awesome guitar playing. They kicked off the night with Momma Don’t Allow and went into one of their own tune, a fitting song, I’m At Home, as the band sure seems at home performing without a hitch.
Backed by Donnie Wood playing bass and David Teegarden Jr. on drums, the Dustin Pittsley Band cruised through songs from their own catalog and covered a few Classics as well. Chris Kyle is normally playing keys for Dustin Pittsley Band, but was unable to make this trip.
The played Already There, Shame Shame Shame, Palm Trees and Trailer Parks, The Ocean, to name a few. They also played songs from their 2016 released, Dustin Pittsley Band, including Shadow Of A Stranger, For The Ones We Left Behind, Satellite, and Just Enough Time. Listening to Dustin Pittsley Band playing Tom Skinner’s Blind Man is always a highlight.
These are the coolest cats displaying their Blues/Southern Rock sounds and talents. Dustin Pittsley moans the Blues and can pick that guitar, Donnie Wood has a strong history with Oklahoma musicians as does David Teegarden Jr, who seems to sweat in reverse. That’s how cool he is.
