Currently midway through the Feel Something Tour, Jaymes Young with Matt Maeson stopped by Larimer Lounge in Denver to put on a stunning sold-out performance.

Embarking on his first headlining tour, Feel Something Tour is titled after his freshman full-length album released just last month. The singer/songwriter began to acquire attention with the release of the noteworthy EP Habits of My Heart in 2014 in which he displayed his strong ability to wrench at the heart with songs like Habits of My Heart and  I’ll Be Good. He has since collaborated with artists David Guetta and Phoebe Ryan and can be found on the soundtrack for the feature film The Fault in Our Stars.

As Larimer Lounge saw a line wrapping around the building, once doors opened it packed itself full of eager and excited fans awaiting Young’s entrance. Matt Maeson opened the night with tracks from his March release, Who Killed Matt Maeson, as well as songs that were less than a week old. Acoustic rhythmic tapping and ear catching melodies made Maeson stand out and showcased his creative skill and aptitude to carry an audience.

Jaymes Young entered the stage with his band to roaring applause and a quickened silence so that every fan could catch every note. Dangling by the vulnerability of his lyrics and the pulse of his cadence and rythmic ballads. The crowd sang along to favorites like “Wondering”, “Stoned on You” and the title track “Feel Something.” Young wrapped the night with a trio of stripped down solo songs. An absolutely beautiful and emotive performance by an artist that has quickly outgrown the local bar venues as he continues to grow his following. Much more to be expected from this talent.
