LA based punk quartet, The Bombpops! hit up Denver last night at The Hi Dive on Broadway! Along with Russian Girlfriends, The Couch Bombs, and Over Time, a very welcomed kick-off to summer went hand-in-hand with an awesome night of punk-rock.

On their third night of touring, The Bombpops were met with a raging, headbanging and mosh-pitting adoring audience as fans sang along to their favorite songs and gave the band a warm spring-evening embrace. These talented songwriters and musicians showcased their skill and young chops as headliners of a stacked card, held their own, and exceeded hopes and expectations.
Three other support acts offered a great set-up and each held their own in this night of #sundayfunday punked out bliss. Swinging mics, stage moshing and general rocking out was had by all as The Bombpops finished up the evening with a 45 minute set of music right out of the epitome of the punk era and reminded us all that punk is alive and well.
Currently on the road with Albuquerque band Russian Girlfriends, who could have easily fit the bill as co-headliner, these guys had a solid stage presence along with a tight sound. Vocal harmonies along with heavy and fast guitar riffs and rip-roaring drum beats made these guys a stand out of the night.
Opening things up was newly formed Over Time, a collection of local Denver musicians that have embarked on a new adventure and debuted at Hi Dive Sunday night. Expecting to see much more of these guys around the scene, be sure and check them out.
To fill the sweet center of the evening was local band The Couch Bombs, a staple of a genre bending punk formation in action. All in all, a fantastic night of in your face, rock your socks off and totally worth the hangover on a Monday morning.
