There is no bad time to see Hairball, but Halloween has to be one of the best! Hairball rolled in to Lakewood, CO, for the Wednesday night show. For the band, it was business as usual, as they interchanged lead singers in their different garbs portraying different artists in their quest to celebrate the big-theater, Arena Rock songs. For the audience, it was a chance to get dressed up, some like their favorite rock legends, such as KISS, Tina Turner, Slash, or other 80?s icons, including a Transformer and Ghost Busters. And for others it was older themed costumes such as Marilyn Monroe, Popeye & Olive Oyl, and American Gothic, and newer outfits, with the Geico, money-motorcycle guy.

Costumed characters packed toward the stage as Hairball blew through their high-energy set, playing two classic hits from KISS, Twisted Sister, Van Halen, Poison, Prince, Aerosmith, Whitesnake, Queen, Motley Crue, and AC/DC. Hairball mixed it up with hard-rocking songs as well as ballads, playing one song each for Cinderella, RATT, Cheap Trick, Bon Jovi, and Alice Cooper. Guns & Roses had three of their songs covered.

Hairball battled some technical difficulties with lead singers’ microphones, but it didn’t seem to faze the raucous crowd any, as they were willing and able to belt out the familiar lyrics. Bass player, Freaky, guitarist, Happy, and drummer, Blake Seybolt, stayed on stage as the three other members of the band took their turns as lead singers, Kris Voxx, Rockstar Bob, and Joe Dandy. It was an intense rock show; all of the musicians showing off their talents and the crowd focused on having a good time through a two-hour musical lesson of the best front men from the biggest Arena Rock groups.

GOYA kicked off the night by blasting through covers and priming the crowd for the amazing night ahead. Out of Colorado Springs, GOYA started their set with Quiet Riot, playing Bang Your Head; just in case you didn’t know what this night was going to be about. GOYA was able to put their own twists on the covers they performed. They played a wide range of songs and classics from Loverboy and Skid Row. They also successfully rocked Poker Face from Lady Ga Ga and Sexy and I Know It from LMFAO. The best music from GOYA came out during their Pantera and Faith No More songs. GOYA is Josh Lanier, Dave Zahara, Michael Glaser, and Jameson Becker. Find them at http://www.facebook.com/GOYABAND.
